There was a time when I felt completely overwhelmed by the difficulties of life. I turned to food for comfort, trying to escape stress, pain, and the chaos of daily struggles. But no matter how much I ate, the emptiness remained.
It wasn’t until I started working through the 12 Steps—and truly surrendered my struggles to our Lord and Savior—that I found a different way to live. Instead of obsessing over what I couldn’t control, I learned to shift my focus to gratitude. Little by little, I discovered that gratitude wasn’t just about saying "thank you" for the good things—it was about finding peace even in the hard moments, knowing that God was with me through it all.
In our latest Reshape and Recover podcast episode, Tony and I explore how gratitude can: ✅ Strengthen your recovery. ✅ Reduce stress and cravings. ✅ Rewire your brain for a more positive outlook.
The Bible reminds us:📖 “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Gratitude is a choice we make every day. Some practical ways to start include:📝 Writing down 3 things you’re thankful for daily.📱 Sharing them with a prayer partner or accountability friend.🙏 Trusting that God has a plan for your healing and growth.
If you feel stuck in the cycle of food addiction or discouragement, know this—there is hope. Through the 12 Steps and the grace of God, I found freedom, and you can too.
