Starting Strong in 2025: Faith-Based Tips for Overcoming Overeating


The days following Christmas are a unique time—a blend of reflection and anticipation. Many of us are savoring the joy of the season while beginning to think about the fresh start that a new year brings. If better health is on your mind for 2025, now is the perfect time to end this year strong and set the stage for success.


Take a few moments to look at 2024. Have you reached your goal, or struggled with eating too much? Sugar and chemicals found in our foods are addictive and cause all kinds of health problems and disease, but there is hope! Like any addiction, the answer lies in staying away from the food that causes us trouble. With the right support and God’s help, it is possible.

Don’t dwell on the past but learn from it. Seek God’s guidance as you prepare for the new year. Remember Philippians 3:13-14: “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”


A new year is a new opportunity to grow stronger—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Let’s finish 2024 with hope and determination, trusting that God is guiding us every step of the way.
