How I Lost Weight

When people have asked me how I lost weight and have kept it off for 16 years, I can tell you exactly what I say. First, I saw my doctor who helped me with a meal plan and suggested a 12 step program. When I joined the program, all I knew is I had tried a bunch of diets in the past and nothing had worked long term because I couldn't stop eating. The 12 step program taught me that I couldn't do it, but that's okay because God could help me. I just needed to put my trust in him and work the rest of the steps to heal the past hurts and get to the root cause of why I overate. I also had the support of a loving group of people I learned to call my friends. Together, and with God's help, I was able to lose the weight and keep it off.
